SHMS Activities Eligibility Policy

At Spring Hill Middle School, we believe that academics are a priority over extra-curricular activities.  Our policy states, "Any student receiving a failing grade (F) in any class will be ineligible to participate in the following week's competition(s)."

In addition, ineligible students are required to meet with the teacher of each class that they are failing for a minimum of 30 minutes for academic help in any week in which they are ineligible due to grades.

In an effort to be fair and to hopefully improve the situation, we conference with the student the first time in the year he/she has a failing grade, giving him/her a warning about the potential for being ineligible for extra-curricular activities.  Our goal is to motivate the students to improve their grades before the next week and to get them back in the game!!
