Dr. Barton L. Goering

Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Goering accepted the role of superintendent in the Spring Hill School District in 1992. Since then, Dr. Goering has refocused the district on challenging all students today for where they will be tomorrow. Due to his leadership, the district has touched on all aspects of education from construction of new buildings, the best teaching staff, increased parent involvement, and provided leading-edge technology for students and staff.

Dr. Goering has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Kansas, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Kansas, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from Kansas State University.

His professional experience includes Superintendent of Pretty Prairie Public Schools, Principal of Moundridge Elementary and Middle Schools, Consultant for Shawnee County Special Education Co-op, Assistant Building Administrator for Topeka Education Center, Classroom teacher and consultant at Robinson Middle School and Special Education teacher for Topeka School District.

In addition to his role at Spring Hill Schools, Dr. Goering is a leader of leaders:

  • He is a member of the Board of Directors and past president of the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce.
  • He has given presentations to groups at the local level, such as Rotarians, and to groups of superintendents and board of education members at the National School Boards’ Association and the American Association of School Administrators.
  • Dr. Goering meets with Johnson County Superintendents to develop strategies for Kansas legislative reform for education.
  • He challenges his administrators and teachers to experiment and grow.

Bart and his wife Cindy live in the Spring Hill district with son, Alex.
