Description of
Course: This
year students will be studying the history of ancient civilizations.
Your child will learn about the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Aztecs,
Incas, Mayans, Mesopotamians, polytheism, monotheism, and where many
religions started. Your child will be required to do many activities
that will help them become better collaborative workers, community
contributors, and be self-directed learners by assuming
responsibilities for assignments.
In addition to
learning about ancient civilizations students are required to take a
local assessment and/or state assessment over Social Studies. This
test will assess student’s knowledge of geographical locations,
Kansas history, civics, and government.
