Kindergarten Round Up  -  April 2nd

Prairie Creek Elementary will have Kindergarten Round Up on Friday, April 2nd, from 8:30-11:00 a.m. Children, in the Prairie Creek area, who will be 5 years old by August 31, 2010, are invited.

Parents wishing to sign up their child should call the school office at 592-7255 by Friday, March 26th. Parents should also bring a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate, his/her social security card and record of immunizations.

Giving Hearts a Helping Hand

Students at Prairie Creek Elementary School and Spring Hill Elementary School raised nearly $5,000 for the American Heart Association. The money raised will help pay for research to discover new medicines and treatments. In addition, students learned how to keep their own hearts healthy by being active.  At Prairie Creek Elementary, fourth and fifth graders participated in the Hoops for Heart campaign, which netted an amazing $1,877 to combat heart disease.

New Immunizations Required

Beginning with the 09-10 school year, new requirements have been put into place regarding immunizations for students. For more information, please visit our immunizations resource page.

Free & Reduced Lunch Information

The district offers a Child Nutrition Benefit Program and encourages families to apply for its free or reduced breakfast and lunch program. Application forms are now available on the Food Services page.

YMCA Offers Before and After School Care at PCES

Beginning in the 2009-10 school year, the YMCA of Greater Kansas City is offering its childcare program to school district families. For more information about the program and registration, read the Y-Care flier*.
